Challenge Course

Team Building and Leadership Development Program

The Outdoor Adventures Challenge Course offers a variety of programs designed to address the needs of our wide range of participants. All of our programs are individually customized to meet a group’s specific goals and desired outcomes. Our Team Building & Leadership Development programs are available to university groups, community organizations, and corporate groups. We offer Low Course, High Ropes Course, and combination programs.

Low Course

Low Course activities are the foundation for building effective teamwork. Throughout the program facilitators guide groups through a sequence of events that include ice breaker activities, problem solving initiatives, and low course elements. During the program, time is taken to discuss the experiences and relate the learning outcomes back to “real world” situations. Participants can expect to get to know group members quickly, establish a sense of camaraderie and teamwork, and develop an atmosphere of cooperation and trust.

High Course

The Jim Wall High Challenge Course consists of fifteen high course elements built thirty-five to forty feet above ground. High course elements push participants to go beyond their perceived limits while working as an individual or as a team. Participants are challenged to expand their comfort zone, build self-confidence, and overcome self-imposed barriers, while being motivated and encouraged by other group members.

Combo Course

The Combo Course begins with Low Course teambuilding followed by High Course adventure. This course is perfect for any group seeking the best of both experiences.

Half-day, full-day, evening and weekend programs are available.

The challenge course is located 6 miles from Central Campus in Schenck Forest, a 245-acre plot managed by the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources for research and teaching.
